PM Surya Ghar, explained simply

The simple answer

PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a Government of India rooftop-solar scheme for eligible residential consumers. SolarSol is a private business and does not approve or pay subsidies.

Consumers generally apply through the official portal, receive feasibility approval from the relevant DISCOM, install an eligible system and complete inspection and documentation steps.

Start with your electricity bill.

What matters in practice

For eligible residential consumers in Odisha, the current combined Central and Odisha State schedule is ₹55,000 for 1 kW, ₹1,10,000 for 2 kW and up to ₹1,38,000 for 3 kW or above. Commercial and other non-residential customers are not included in this subsidy estimate.

  • Use recent electricity consumption, not a single unusually high or low bill.
  • Keep modeled savings separate from subsidy eligibility.
  • Confirm roof, shadow and sanctioned-load conditions through a site survey.

Your next step

Use SolarSol's calculator for an initial estimate, then request a transparent preliminary quotation. Nothing is final until technical feasibility and component availability are confirmed.
